I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day

Sweet Strains of Christmas Music

As soon as we wake up the day after Thanksgiving, someone’s iPod (usually mine) gets commandeered to plug into the stereo to send the sweet strains of Christmas music floating through the house. We have an interesting mix of c.d.s in our music library –Harry Connick Jr., Steven Curtis Chapmen, Casting Crowns, Amy Grant, Kenny G, Taylor Swift, Toby Mac, Third Day, Michael Bublé, and Randy Travis—both old and new, traditional and modern. Whether we are listening to an old favorite that we know by heart or a new c.d. that was only added to our collection that year, Christmas music is my second favorite Christmas tradition because nothing gets me into a Christmas mood better than listening to Christmas music. And beyond just getting me excited for the holiday, it focuses my thoughts to the true reason for the season, Jesus Christ.
